This is pretty specific, but I want to know what people
think. The new iPhone has been a hot topic this month. I’m sure you have already heard about all the
new features but if you want a closer look, check out this 3d viewer of the
iPhone 6. http://www.iphone6in3d.com
One feature that didn’t get much publicity, but is critical
to the new design, is the placement of the lock button. In previous models the
lock button has been on the top of the phone on the right side. The iPhone 6
and 6 plus have the lock button about ¾ of the way up the right side.
Personally, I like the new design. I think it fits
perfectly, especially since the phones are larger. It would be cumbersome to
reach up to lock the phone, especially on the iPhone 6 plus.
What do you think?

My best friend bought the new iPhone 6 Plus and personally I hate the lock button not being on the top like it has been. It has been such a habit to lock my phone and not even look at it when I lock it. With the new iPhone I understand it's larger and harder to reach with one hand. But I still think Apple should have kept the lock button in the same place to cause less confusion. Yes, the new iPhone use will get use to it, but when they get a hold on the old one, then there will be a slight moment of panic and confusion.
ReplyDeleteI actually just got the iPhone 6 Plus the other day, and I must say I'm glad they moved the lock/power button to the side. It is much easier to lock after use, and your hand is generally close to that button when you're holding it.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I will say that adjusting has been a small issue. For me, I've had an iPhone since the first generation. The change sometimes causes me to reach to the top, but I believe over time that won't be an issue. They should have just moved it over there in the first place if you ask me!
